Manuel Nina has a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico of Lisbon, with a specialization in Industrial Production. He was a technical assistant in the European Parliament and at the Portuguese Parliament on matters of energy policy, electric mobility, innovation and web based social networking.
He worked as an energy auditor in the residential and healthcare sectors in Portugal. He is a certified Project Manager Associate by the International Project Management Association and member of its Portuguese Charter, APOGEP.
Since 2011 he has been involved in the project management and/or coordination of several CIP and FP7 Projects funded by the European Commission, such as SMART CAMPUS, TELL ME, STORM CLOUDS and CITY SDK, focusing in the areas of Energy, ICT, Human Smart Cities, Open Data, Cloud Computing and Manufacturing. He is an Innovation Consultant for several Universities and Municipalities.
